Something wicked this way comes

Adorning all glassware with Halloween deco is wickedly fun.  Finding scary REAL photos on line adds to the absolute creepiness of Halloween.
Find an old photo, make a copy and then poke eyes with a pin, add red tissue paper on back to create a sinister old look!
You can make your own halloween labels from your printer.  Use old brown shoe polish to give it the old look.
Having a Edgar Allen Poe themed spot is a great idea for Halloween.  Who doesn't love the old Raven that spouts NEVERMORE!
Photo shop old photos

Decorating an old window with a wreath an vinyl lettering
I just found old  address numbers and letters for my mail box and I almost threw them away...but instead I used to  personalize a pumpkin.  The other pumpkin has our house number on it.  TOO easy.

Halloween decorating! Heck YES!

With 13 boxes of decor for Halloween, decorating takes me a couple of days.  Here is the first installment of Halloween fun.  There will be more forthcoming!!  Remember you can use most things that are already in your house.  Just add halloween garb...and boom=SPOOKY AMAZEMENT!

Using an old photo and a cool frame brings out the eerie:)

Put vinyl lettering on plastic pumpkins

Using old vintage bottles and then mod-podging a creepy design is festive.  Finding holiday balls of black and orange give your glass jars the perfect Halloween touch.

Using your garden pumpkins is a fun way to decorate!

Laundry room doesn't have to be JUST practical...

So where DO mothers spend most of their time?  The Kitchen and Laundry room, right?! With 7 of us in our family, I am in my laundry room MANY hours a day doing laundry. Spruce up your laundry room with fun shelves, jars, baskets, soaps etc. to make it a pleasant place to be...since you will be there frequently:)

A great find? Ceiling Tiles!

I LOVE ceiling tiles.  In my small town, our city building has old ceiling tiles.  About 6 years ago I was on a hunt for ceiling tiles. I looked and searched for them here in the West but...nothin.  I got on-line and there were ceiling tiles, but expensive!  $100 for a square!
That same year I went to North Carolina to help my sister-in-law decorate her farm house.  A-M-A-Z-I-N-G antique shops.  And wouldn't you know, I found ceiling tiles in a little store!  I asked the man, "how much"?  He replied..."hmmmm two for five".  I smiled and said "I will take them ALL".  And I did.  I had my brother wrap them up nice and tight and  I checked them in on the plane home.
There are great things about ceiling tiles, besides just looking fabulous in a house:)  They cover bad walls and they are magnetic.  Just be careful with old ones, they tend to have the lead based paint on them.

Kitchen Cupboard Fun

The best thing to come from the 70's?  The Bee Gees!!  The worst!!  Ugly brown cabinets...blah! No worries:0  You will just need the following:

Amazing what a little paint and knobs will do...

For those of us that have purchased homes from the 1970's, we have had to see the unfortunate result of the 70's: wooden paneling and hideous brown, fake-wood cupboards!! Yuck! So, if you don't have the money, what DO you do?  You paint them, distress them and put on some cute knobs!  The cutest knobs are at Anthropology. But for those of us that refuse to pay $30 bucks for a stinkin knob...there is STILL hope.  Can you say Hobby Lobby?!  These cute little knobs are from Hobby Lobby for $5 bucks.  The result?
Hard to believe that these cupboards were a hideous brown before! Easy and cheap and the best part?!  A ONE day project!

Mod Podge Vintage Suitcase

Today Eliza and I mod-podged a vintage suitcase of my grandmother's.  Something easy and fun to display.  I have used this suitcase in the bathroom to hold towels, shampoos, and bubble bath. Currently it is holding my personals in my closet!  Took one hour to do:) Don't throw away those old vintage suitcases...do something FUN with it!
